About the studio
Less,
but better.
An independent software studio in the United Kingdom, building our own products and taking on client work for people who want the same standard.

MOHBI is an independent software studio in the United Kingdom. We do two things: we build and run our own products, and we build websites and applications for clients who want the same standard applied to theirs.
Those two halves are not separate businesses. Running our own software in production is what keeps the client work honest. When you have to answer for an outage yourself, at your own expense, indefinitely, you make different decisions about dependencies, data models, and anything clever enough to be difficult to debug under pressure.
How we operate
Six things you can hold us to
Not values on a wall. Commitments you can check against what actually happens on your project.
Prototype early
You see a working version you can click through, not a document describing one.
Agreed scope up front
What is included, and what is not, is settled before any work starts.
You own what matters
Code, domain, and documentation in your name from day one, whoever runs the servers.
No account managers
You talk to the people writing the code. Nothing is relayed.
Performance by default
Speed, accessibility, and technical SEO built in rather than bolted on.
We stay after launch
We run our own products in production and we do not vanish after yours goes live.
The longer version
Who we are
What we actually do
We design and build web applications, mobile apps, design systems, and the automation and AI features that sit inside them. In practice that means a founder with an idea and no technical co-founder, a business whose process has outgrown a spreadsheet, or an established organisation whose website no longer reflects what it has become.
We are small on purpose. The number of projects running at once is deliberately low, because attention is the thing that actually determines whether software is good. You talk to the people building it, not to an account manager relaying messages.
What we believe about building software
Prototypes beat specifications. Written requirements are a poor medium for interfaces: everyone reads the same paragraph and imagines something different, and nobody finds out until it is expensive. We put a working version in front of you early so the disagreements happen while they are still cheap.
Speed is a feature. A slow site is a broken site with extra steps, and performance is far cheaper to build in than to retrofit. The same applies to accessibility and technical SEO. All three are structural, and all three are miserable to add at the end.
Less, but better. Most software is worse for having more in it. A product that does one thing properly beats one that does six things approximately, and the discipline to leave things out is most of the job.
You should own the things that matter. Code, repository, domain, and documentation, in your name, from the start. Hosting can sit in your account or be managed by us, whichever you would rather deal with. Nothing about the way we build is designed to make leaving difficult, and if you want to take it in-house next year, you can.
Where we work
We are based in the United Kingdom and work on UK time. Most of our client work is with UK businesses, though our own products have users internationally and we are comfortable working with clients in other timezones as long as there is enough overlap to have a real conversation.
We work remotely and we are direct about it: a small remote studio that replies quickly is worth more than a local one that does not. We reply to every enquiry, usually within a working day.
Our own products
REQO is a browser-based screen recorder and video editor. PULSX is uptime monitoring for developers and small teams. FAM is a private organiser app for households, live on Google Play with iOS in progress. Each one exists because we wanted it and could not find a version we were happy to pay for.
They are also the most honest portfolio we have. Client work is always partly shaped by someone else's constraints. Our own products are entirely ours, which means every decision in them, good and bad, is attributable to us.
