Voice cloning and custom AI voices
A consented, properly licensed AI version of a real voice, or a custom brand voice, for your phone agent, product, training content, or narration.
- Scoped per project
- UK based
- Founder-led delivery
Voice cloning creates a synthetic voice that sounds like a specific real person, from recordings of that person speaking. Once it exists, it can read any text you give it: a phone greeting, a training module, an app's spoken replies, or a product video in another language.
We build custom voices for businesses that want their phone agent or content to sound like them rather than like a stock voice everyone else is using. The voice is recorded, built, and licensed with the speaker's documented consent, and it is wired into wherever it needs to speak.
Included
What you get
Every engagement includes all of this. None of it turns up later as an extra.
Consent and licensing first
A written agreement with the speaker covering what the voice may be used for, for how long, in which languages, and how they can withdraw. Nothing is recorded until this is in place.
Recording that gives a good result
Guidance or a session plan for clean recordings, because the quality of the source audio sets the ceiling for the quality of the voice.
Building and tuning the voice
Creating the voice model, then tuning pronunciation of your brand name, product names, and UK place names so it does not stumble on the words that matter most to you.
Wired into where it speaks
Connected to your AI voice agent, your app, or a content pipeline that turns scripts into finished audio, so the voice is a working part of the business rather than a file on a laptop.
Other languages, same voice
The same voice speaking other languages for training material, product videos, or support lines, so international customers hear a consistent brand.
Access control and an off switch
The voice lives on an account you control, only approved systems can use it, usage is logged, and it can be deleted permanently if the speaker withdraws.
In detail
How we approach it
Consent is the whole product
A cloned voice is only an asset if you have the right to use it. The commercial risk in voice cloning is not technical, it is a voice used beyond what the speaker agreed to, or kept after they leave the business. So the agreement comes first, and it spells out the uses, the term, the languages, the payment if any, and what happens when someone changes their mind.
We will not clone a voice without documented consent from the person it belongs to, imitate public figures, or build voices for calls designed to mislead the person on the other end.
The UK rules in plain terms
Recordings of an identifiable person's voice are personal data under UK GDPR, which means a lawful basis, a stated purpose, and a retention period. Where voice data is used to identify someone it can count as biometric data and needs stronger protection. Performers who record professionally also have rights in their performances. None of this stops you building a custom voice. It means the paperwork has to be right, and for anything unusual we will suggest you take legal advice. This page is not legal advice.
How much audio is needed
A few minutes of clean speech gives a recognisable voice that is fine for short phrases. A voice good enough for long-form narration or a customer-facing phone line needs considerably more, recorded in a quiet room with a decent microphone and read naturally rather than performed. We will tell you which you need for your use, and we can run the recording session.
Cloned voice or stock voice?
Many projects do not need a clone. Modern stock voices are natural, cheap, and come with no consent paperwork. A cloned voice earns its cost when the voice is part of your brand, when customers already know the person, or when consistency across many hours of content matters. If a stock voice will do, we will say so.
Being open about synthetic speech
Listeners should be told when a voice is synthetic, particularly on phone calls. It costs nothing, it builds trust rather than eroding it, and it is the direction regulation is heading anyway.
Process
How it runs
Four steps from first call to launch. No surprises, no disappearing acts.
Call
One focused call to understand what you need, who it is for, and what success looks like. You leave with a clear, written scope and a proposal.
Prototype
You are clicking through a working prototype with most of the core features live, early in the project. Real screens in the browser, not static mockups.
Refine
We shape the prototype into the finished product, folding in every amendment you ask for. Nothing ships until you have confirmed the final build.
Deploy
We take it live on the hosting provider and domain of your choosing, fully wired up, and stay close after launch to keep it running smoothly.

FAQ
Voice Cloning questions
Is voice cloning legal in the UK?
Yes, with the consent of the person whose voice it is and a clear agreement on how it will be used. Voice recordings are personal data under UK GDPR, so the usual rules on purpose, lawful basis, and retention apply. We put the consent agreement in place before anything is recorded. For unusual uses we recommend legal advice.
How much recording do you need?
It depends on the use. A few minutes of clean audio is enough for a recognisable voice for short phrases. A voice for a customer-facing phone line or long narration needs much more, recorded in a quiet room. We tell you which you need before you book a studio or set up a microphone.
Who owns the cloned voice?
The voice model sits on an account your business controls, and its use is governed by the agreement with the speaker. You do not rent it from us. If the speaker withdraws consent within the terms of that agreement, the voice is deleted.
Will it sound robotic?
Not with good source audio. Current voice models handle tone, pacing, and emphasis well. Where they slip is unusual names and words, which is why we tune pronunciation of your brand, products, and places as part of the build.
Can the cloned voice speak other languages?
Yes. The same voice can speak a range of languages, which is useful for training material, product videos, and support lines. Quality varies by language, so we test the ones you need before you commit.
Can you use the voice in an AI phone agent?
Yes, that is one of the most common uses. A cloned voice on your AI receptionist means callers hear a familiar voice. See our AI voice agents service for the rest of that build.
